About Grilly Cheese

Grilly Cheese was not built in a boardroom. It was built in the street, under pressure, and in front of real customers.

Built From Real Hospitality Experience

Founder Steven Weitzman grew up in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, surrounded by catering through his mom’s company, Creative Catering Company. By 13, he was already working in restaurants, learning the pace, standards, and work ethic that separate average service from unforgettable experiences.

That experience led to years in hospitality, including touring as a personal hospitality assistant for artists like Taylor Swift, Steven Tyler, and Aerosmith. At that level, details matter, timing matters, and execution matters.

Grilly Cheese began as a tiny hot dog cart in Center City, Philadelphia. It quickly expanded into its first brick-and-mortar location at Rowan University in Glassboro, then evolved again with the launch of its first food truck.

Once the demand for catering took off, the restaurant was closed so the focus could shift fully to private events, corporate catering, weddings, festivals, and large-scale public gatherings.

Today, Grilly Cheese proudly serves clients across New Jersey, Philadelphia, and surrounding areas with one goal: deliver food guests genuinely get excited about and service clients can rely on.

This is not just catering. This is the part of your event people remember.

Meet the Founder

Steven is currently based in Philadelphia and brings creativity into everything he does. Outside of business, he is passionate about animals and shares life with his cat Kanga and two German Shepherds, Roo and Feefee. He enjoys riding motorcycles, building and developing app ideas for fun, and playing music.

A lifelong musician, Steven primarily plays drums, while also enjoying guitar, piano, and currently learning violin.

That same energy, curiosity, and hands-on mindset is what helped build Grilly Cheese from a small street cart into one of the region’s most memorable catering brands.
